What is Reiki? Reiki means "universal life energy" and comes directly from source (The Divine, God, Mother Earth, The Universe, The Cosmos, Buddha, Great Spirit, etc).  All things are made up of energy. Blocked or low levels of energy can lead to stress, disease, fatigue, maladaptive patterns,  emotional problems, and behavioral problems. Reiki is a specific modality of energy medicine and spiritual healing that focuses on healing and restoring balance and harmony to the mind, emotions, physical body, and soul. Reiki is considered energy medicine, natural medicine, and is a form of Complementary and  Alternative Medicine (CAM). Reiki originated in Japan.


What is a Reiki session? A Reiki session is a hands on healing session in which a Reiki practitioner gives Reiki to a client using light hand placements on or slightly above the body. The client sits in a chair or lies fully clothed on a massage table. Hand placements usually begin at the head and end at the feet. A full session may involve both the front and the back of the body.  Most people find the treatments very soothing and relaxing. Some find their pain is reduced and they have more energy. Some have peak or spiritual experiences. Reiki stimulates the body's own healing abilities and can be used for stress reduction, pain relief, to increase energy, for emotional healing, healing physical ailments, to enhance well-being, and for spiritual growth and development.

What else can Reiki be used for? You can do Reiki on yourself for healing, personal growth, insight, enlightenment, relaxation, and stress management.  You can use it in meditation and artwork. You can do Reiki on animals, babies, and children. You can do Reiki on crystals, plants, trees. You can use Reiki to heal the world or situations. Reiki blends well with yoga, massage, other forms of energy work and bodywork, counseling, nursing, and spiritual practices.

Energy Healing and becoming Reiki. There are many different systems of energy and many different energy healing techniques. Everyone has the ability to use energy to heal. However, Reiki is a specific energy healing modality and a specific energy. An attunement from a Reiki Master Teacher is required in order to do Reiki and in order to say you do Reiki.  A Reiki attunement involves the transfer of energy and connects the student to the source of Reiki.  A Reiki attunement greatly enhances the flow of life force energy. Each level of Reiki opens you up to a greater flow. Reiki is very easy to learn and to do. Once you have had a Reiki attunement, you are always able to easily access this healing energy.

Lineage. Christina is an independent Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master Teacher. Please see her biography page for more information. She teaches other forms of energy work that blend well with Reiki. However, her Reiki classes stay true to Reiki and only cover Reiki techniques and philosophies.  

Format and Location. All Reiki classes are available individually and in group format by request/appointment.  Private small groups by request. Individual classes are held in Sheboygan, WI. Group classes (2 or more)available in Sheboygan, Madison, or Lake Mills. Contact Christina via email or contact form on contact page to set up a class or if you have any questions. Reiki Level I 
In this class the student is attuned to the first level of Reiki.  The student will then learn techniques to use Reiki to heal others as well as for their own selfcare. Class includes meditation, guided imagery, instruction, discussion, practice time, a manual, and a certificate.  In individual classes, the student can also receive a full Reiki and/or Chakra Balancing session from Christina. Individual Class is about 4 hours in length. Group classes are about 5 hours in length.  Fee: $150. Deposit of $50 is due when you register. Please see Prices page for payment options. $25 discount for caregivers!!! Reiki 1 only. Christina is an advocate for Integrative Medicine so she offers a $25 discount to CNAs, nurses, counselors, therapists, and physicians. Discount also applies to family caregivers (for example Alzheimers).

Reiki Level II
The student will receive another Reiki attunement. With Reiki II, one has a greater flow of energy than Reiki I. Students also learn additional Reiki techniques such as using symbols to heal and sending distant Reiki. Class includes meditation, guided imagery, instruction, discussion, a manual, certificate, as well as practice time and Reiki sharing.  In individual classes, the student can also receive a full Reiki and/or Chakra Balancing session from Christina. Prerequisites: Reiki I certification. Student must wait at least 21 days after taking Reiki I. If your Reiki I teacher was someone other than Christina, please bring a copy of your Reiki I certificate to class. Individual Class is about 4 hours in length. Group classes are about 5 hours in length.

Reiki Level III Master Practitioner
The student will receive two more Reiki attunements. With Reiki III, one is opened to the full flow of energy and beyond.  Students also learn additional Reiki symbols, Reiki colors, and Reiki breathing. Class includes meditation, guided imagery, instruction, a manual, certificate, mentoring, as well as practice time and Reiki sharing.  In individual classes, the student can also receive a full Reiki and/or Chakra Balancing session from Christina. Prerequisites: Reiki II certification. Student must wait at least 21 days after taking Reiki II. If your Reiki II teacher was someone other than Christina, please bring a copy of your Reiki II certificate to class. Individual Class is about 4 hours in length. Group classes are about 5 hours in length.

Reiki Level III Master Teacher
Learn how to teach and attune others to all levels of Reiki.  Series of 2 classes about 2-3 weeks apart. This course is approximately 10 hours of class time and requires written homework before the first class and in between classes.  Prerequisites: Reiki I & II & III (Reiki Master Practitioner) certification. At this time, Christina must have been your Reiki Master Teacher for at least the Reiki Master Practitioner level. If you need to review Reiki I, II, and/or III a session may be required before your first Teacher class. Taking the Reiki Master Teacher Course is a big commitment so please be sure that you do intend to complete this course when you start it. Once you have attended the first class and received the class materials, no refunds will be given. Certification as a Reiki Master Teacher is dependent on the satisfactory completion of written homework, proper demonstration of attunements, and knowledge of class materials expressed verbally in the classes. If you are unable to accomplish this during the course of the regularly scheduled classes you may need to repeat the course with other students or schedule additional class time for an additional fee before you receive your certification.
